Seljalandsfoss is about fifteen minutes west. Skógafoss is about twelve minutes east. The farm is the pause in the middle.
Most people see the south coast from Reykjavík, which means every stop comes with a two-hour drive on each end and a queue in the middle. Staying between the waterfalls turns that inside out. The two most famous falls in the country are a short run in opposite directions, and everything else on the coast, Reynisfjara, Vík, Seljavallalaug, Þórsmörk, is a day trip that starts after breakfast instead of before dawn.
The practical difference is the hours you get. The buses own the falls from late morning to late afternoon. From here you can stand behind Seljalandsfoss in the evening light, or have Skógafoss to yourself before the first coach clears Hvolsvöllur.
